Hi,
I’m Flavia, and I’ve been bitter for a fat minute. As a Philosophy graduate from the University of Edinburgh, I often lose what little sanity I have left just thinking, spiralling into the abyss. Though I was born in Sao Paulo (Brazil) and later shuffled across the US before ultimately settling in Texas, I somehow ended up freezing my ass off in Scotland. I’m a Pisces, and the fact that I was born at 4:44 AM on Leap Day is both aggressively on-brand and unsurprising to those that know me. Those same people who know me so well have been incessantly pushing me to write a book or asking when the Netflix doc drops because for some reason things just happen to me, and they’re adamant that the willdy different, incongruous yet equally eventful lives I’ve lived within just 25 years deserves to be documented (and maybe researched for science post my likely untimely demise). As I run up my therapy bill agonizing over everything all the time always, it sometimes feels like most people around me don’t even remember how to think. I’m over angrily ranting in my notes app, so instead, I angrily rant here. By de-mystifying academic Philosophy, cynically examining current affairs, and sharing stories that reflect the chaotic, illogical clusterfuck that is life, I hope to make critical thought a thing again, while combatting the weird possessiveness/inaccessibility of information within academia and mainstream media. Knowledge is power, and the people need their power back.
